Eid al Fitr

Now that the Ramadan is coming to an end, it's time for shopping! On Eid al Fitr, children get new clothes and pocket money, and families gather to eat and celebrate. Especially the sweet desserts are famous and can be bought on every corners of the street. A. is going to his family in Sohag and we also bought some stuff for his little brothers and sister. It was a very special experience to live in Egypt during Ramadan, and my favorite memory are the people who offer sweet drinks in the middle of the street to drivers when the mosq calls that it is allowed to drink and eat again. I'd love to be part of the fest too, and we are planning to go to Sohog together for the "Big Fest" in October (inshallah). But now: Belgium first!
