Last weeks have been busy, so much fun and also a bit emotional, in one word: unforgetable! My sister and her boyfriend Gert could come to El Gouna, because the DJ for the weekly Duport Pool parties had cancelled last-minute and he came to rescue :)

We have such a lovely week: snorkeling, a catamaran trip, and as the highlight of the week: G. DJ-set on Thursday. If there had been a roof, he had surely blown it off! But judge yourself:

It must have been the bad eye

Here they say: "it must have been the bad eye.", whenever something bad happens (little M. falls of his bike, or a couple argues, or...) It means that it is the envy of jealous others that brings people problems and bad luck. To protect themselves, people wear amulets, burn salt, and try to stay modest (without too much public display of affection or wealth).

The front door is always open in A. home, and there are always people passing by, saying hello, and coming in to pay us a visit: children, uncles, sisters, neighbours, and sometimes also chicken.
