Books and reading make me happy

We are very happy to be members of the public (puplic?) library. From now one we can rent 3 books every 2 weeks. I really missed reading and libraries, and books, and -although the choice is limited- I'm sure it will result in many nice evenings (candle, tea, chocolate, nice story,...)

Elf leila wa leila

 The short-cut to the office.
 A. and T. in Harafish
 Our favorite fish restaurant: Hefny
Dinner by the seaside + full moon. And only 5 min away from our appartment. Why didn't we come here earlier? Next time I'll bring my family.
Motivation to study more Arabic: I am curious to know what all the grafitti says.
Felt sorry for A. who expected a real piece of turkey, not a sandwich. Ocharme, such a disappointment.
Happy that A. is back to work but I'll miss his homemade dinner when I come home.
Mind the heart-shaped tomato art.. it's all in the details.
Sometimes C. and I really need girl-time in the Marina. And ice-cream!
Figs with goatcheese and honey. A. calls it 'fafi' which means something like 'chichi' in my hometown. I still remember I sometimes bought 1 fig in Delhaize supermarket (because it was quite expensive), and I held it in my hand the whole way home because I was afraid it would get squashed. Here it is so normal to buy a full bag of this"exotic" delicousness.
Find Zita. This dog really cracks me up. I have to laugh out loud when I am concentrated on work and suddenly feel watched and see her spying on me.

Bureaucracy

A secret photo of the Visa Office
Why do they never completely take the plastic off?
Sweet escape to our appartment when the HR. boy told me I had to wait 3 hours in the boiling hot Visa Office. No way José. I needed water and a shower.

Happy End
New visa for me and new passport for A.

Dahar

A. and me, on the hunt for a comfortable chair. Unfortunately, the majority of the furniture here  is really ugly and/ or expensive. That's why we opted to buy some big cozy pillows to put in our sofa. It was much fun choosing the fabrics. We decided to go for Tweety (bottom).
(True story: basic (boring) grey. Because it'll look great in our new -white- appartement, inshallah)

Soap and Glory

My current favorite body care products:
-Johnson's baby badtime bath: very soft and relaxing after a long day at work.
-L'oréal Silk 'n Gloss leave in conditioner: very fast and effective. It makes my hair easier to comb and very soft.
-Fa Caribbean Lemon Eau de Cologne: very refreshing with a unisex smell. It instantly cools down your skin as well. Great stuff to spray all-over.
-Vaseline Aloe Vera body Lotion: basic bodylotion that does the job. Non-sticky and fresh smell.
-Rituals Ice Shower: Very energetic shower gel for a kick-off start in the morning or a cool-down shower session after a sticky hot day at the beach. It makes your skin feel ice cold and has a longlasting parfume.

A.'s favorite body care products:
-Old Spice Pure Sport deodorant: a cult product in the US (not for sale in Belgium, but here it can be found in Spinneys). Very longlasting and great masculine smell.
-Rituals Blue Dragon shower foam: delicious foam and a parfume that lasts and makes the whole bathroom smell nice
-Palmer's Hair Silk: A.'s holy grail for hair care: makes your hair shine and stops frizziness.

Early birds

A. woke me up in the early morning (5 am, that's what I call the middle of the night). He had been to the mosk for the first prayer of the day and brought special Egyptian sweets for breakfast. Because we have had a though weekend, we were in need of some quality time, away from our daily routine.

That's why we drank tea on the balcony, talked a little bit and watched the city wake up. I've always dreamed of having a balcony one day, and I love it every day now. Bougainville or other flowers would make the place even better.

 Sleepy head.
 Oh hi. Goodmorning.
 Here comes the summer sun.
Later that morning, I drove us to Sekkala square to buy oven fresh bread, and we had breakfast at Abu Aya. I was just back in time to take the bus to work. I felt like I already had a full day, at 7.30 am.
Where is A.? He was lucky and could go back to bed haha! I feel like I should encourage his crazy surprises though... it is so much better than uninspiredly watching TV.

Dinner date

It always makes me happy when A. comes to El Gouna after a long day at work. When we walk in the Marina, we feel like we're on a holiday. This time we decided to drink something on a nice table next to the yachts, and head back to Hurghada for falafel sandwiches. While I am not fond of driving, I wanted to try our new car for the first time in El Gouna, where the streets are calm. In the end, I continued driving all the way to Hurghada. It was dark and stressy, but I am so proud I did it.

Recently enjoyed things

A. and I dream to buy a boat one day. This one would be nice: we just have to add my name!
It's a Coca-Cola shop!
When my boss is abroad, his dog stays at the office. And I take her for a walk sometimes.
Ahh. I love it when I come home after work and A. has made dinner. <3
Somehow I find this shop hilarious.
