Off to the souk

Open doors

Yesterday I visited the German school where my friend C. works. I was surprised how much it looked (and smelled!) like European schools. I could have spend the whole afternoon in the garden and the art class.

6.20 - Alarm goes off. The sun is already shining through the windows. Snooze another 10 minutes

6.35 - Shower time!

6.45 - I wake up A. and open the windows: sunny and no clouds, it is going to be 28° today

6.47 Wear my clothes and do the make up, dry my hair

 7.10 -I quickly take the dry laundry inside and follow A. outside

 7.12 - We take the car to the main street

 Bumpy ride

 7.15 - I get out and wait for the bus to El Gouna. A. continues to Makadi in the other direction

7.18 Colleague V. is approaching

 7.25 - I drink guava juice and read a book that I found in the hotel library

 We make a few more stops to pick up hotel managers

8.10 We arrive in the hotel in El Gouna, and I always start with hot water and lemon. Restaurant Manager I. is back from Meqqa and proudly shows A. and me the calenders he bought.

 8.20 -Breakfast

 8.45 -I walk to my office

09.00 - I scan the emails and start with making a To-do list for the day

 11.00 -I have the office for myself today and can work fast without disturbance. Tea break! I brought white tea with pommegranate from Albert Hein in Belgium, yummie.

 12.00-14.00 - Consulate opens and I deliver and cancel some passports. It turns out that one lady used to live in the street of my uncle! Small world...

14.05 Walk to the hotel for lunch. The earth shows crackles from the heavy rain and the hot sun. It reminds me of Easter chocolate eggs

14.15-15.00 -Lunch on the terrace

15.05 - Walk back to the office. The battery of both my phones dies and I can't find the recharger in my bag although I am sure I put it inside the night before

 17.09 -Bus picks me up from my office

 17.15 -Another bumpy ride home.. I put Carbamide cream on my hands and cuticles (real pharmacy discovery, works like magic for only 0.30€)

17.55 I quickly go to Metro supermarket for juice and Vodaphone credit

18.20 -I tidy the appartment a bit, make up the bed, and put our chill outfits ready

19.00 A. comes home from work and we have dinner together

 20.00 I burn some candles and a Yankee scent and put on my comfortable clothes

20.10 -A. watches tv and makes tea. I read until I fall asleep (around 21.30)
